What is a trance?
A trance is an altered state of consciousness that most people slip in and out of all the time – for example, when we’re so engrossed in a film that we forget where you are, or when we travel down the motorway for 20 miles without being conscious of driving the car.
Will I tell you something I don’t want you to know while I’m in trance?
No. Most of the time you’d remain silent during a trance but even if you do speak, you’d never say anything you didn’t want anyone to know.
Will you have control of my mind?
No. Hypnotherapy, contrary to popular belief, is all about you having more control of your own mind. The hypnotherapist is simply the catalyst for you to reorganise your thoughts, behaviours and beliefs in a more positive way.
Can anyone be hypnotised?
Yes, if you want to be hypnotised you can be. However, there are different depths of trance and these vary from person to person and also from session to session.
How does hypnotherapy work?
Hypnotherapy helps to treat problems by accessing your unconscious mind, where you store all your emotions and behaviours. Unlike other forms of therapy and counselling, which often take months or years to show results, hypnotherapy gives you positive suggestions and alternative new behaviours, meaning you can change very rapidly. Do you want to lose weight? Or stop smoking? Or simply gain more confidence in your everyday life? Hypnotherapy can help you do all these things and more. It can…
- change your eating habits
- eliminate cravings for cigarettes
- remove fears and phobias
- replace negative beliefs with positive ones
- increase your motivation
- heal past hurts
these are just some of the problems hypnotherapy can be used for:
Addictions – Anxiety – Athletic performance – Binge Drinking – Blushing – Childbirth - Childrens Problems – Confidence – Exam Nerves – Fear Of Flying – IBS – Infertility – Incontinence – Insomnia – Jealousy – Nail biting – Panic attacks – Past Relationships – Phobias – Public speaking – Stopping smoking – Stress – Stuttering – Teeth grinding - Weight
