Clinical hypnotherapy

Clinical hypnotherapy or clinical hypnosis, as it is sometimes called, refers to the therapeutic value of hypnotism. It mainly alludes to the therapeutic treatments available. There are more treatments that clinical hypnotherapy can offer than I can possibly describe here. All the time the boundaries of clinical hypnotherapy are being explored and developed. It is always worth asking your clinical hypnotherapist if they specialise in any particular area of therapy or, if you have a specific problem, find out if the therapist has any expertise in helping clients for that condition.

Clinical hypnotherapy is used for a wide variety or ailments including some of those you may not be aware of; i.e. hay fever relief, anesthesia during surgical operations, pain control for migraines and many, many more. Some of these are well documented but the emphasis is always the same, the connection of the mind and body. Some hypnotherapists also give emphasis on the link with the 'spirit' of the individual. So the mind, body and spirit connections are all bought into the equation of healing whilst clinical hypnotherapy is being undertaken. This lets the clinical hypnotherapist heal, mend or cure the 'whole' individual.

A good clinical hypnotherapist can help the client deal with the problems they bring to the surgery whilst also working at the unconscious level to allow the person to become more comfortable within themselves. No one knows the true extent of the power of the unconscious mind but with the clinical hypnotherapist’s ability to enroll the unconscious with positive suggestions which seem appealing and often compelling the transition to health and wellbeing can be a gentle and effective journey. In fact my clients often notice changes which occur to their behaviour, habits or sense of wellbeing after it has already happened. Perhaps they have felt shy, timid and unable to speak up in meetings and after the hypnotherapy they have been the first to speak, even sometimes being the one who contributes the most and only realise the difference after the meeting has finished. The most effective clinical hypnotherapists work in this way; their client feels changes in behaviour completely natural.
